Progressive Martial Arts club was started in 1997 in a small building in Catterick Village. In 2001 Steven began teaching for the club and took over in 2004. In 2007 the club moved from the local village halls into a purposely converted building on Colburn Industrial Estate. The club has continued to grow and is now respected as one of the most professional clubs in the area. In 2016 a sister school was opened in Northallerton by one of the clubs senior students. The club is run out of Encore dance studio, and is open to anyone over the age of 14.

No prior experience is necessary. Progressive Martial Arts welcomes complete beginners and provides a supportive environment to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fundamentals.
For your first class, bring comfortable athletic clothing, a water bottle, and a positive attitude. The gym can provide information about purchasing a gi (BJJ uniform) once you decide to continue training.

My son attends the Little Dragons sessions and today he had his birthday party there. Both he and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Emma expertly managed the entertainment, organising games and demonstrating a few basic moves ensuring that all the children, regardless of whether they are regular attendees, could participate. We also had ample space to enjoy snacks and cake while Emma and Steve set up the bouncy assault course. Overall Progressive Martial Arts is an excellent venue offering an inclusive environment and providing a fantastic space for energetic parties, all at a great price.
