Offered A Free Kids Taster Session Upon arrival we were met by Tommo who was very welcoming. Both children my partner and myself sat down for what they called the induction. This induction started off with some questions about the children however it quickly turned into a sales pitch. From memory I think the prices where £129.00 for kit, insurance and a few other bits including license and starter pack then there was £49.00 for something else which was needed as part of the joining fee. Then for two sessions per week (lowest option) it was a touch over £60.00 per month obviously this was per child. I didn't think the £60.00 was bad at all when you base it on around £8 per session per child. Tommo explained that if we signed up that day we would not have to pay the additional £49.00 fee. I explained to Tommo that I would not be joining up that day as I wanted to discuss with my children after they had time to reflect. After all if the kids didn’t enjoy it then what’s the point in me signing them up. My children went on to do their lesson and one of them enjoyed it more than the other. After the session Tommo said I just need to sit you all back down to finish the briefing/induction as we didn't complete it earlier (I knew this was the rest of the sales pitch to try and close the deal) We had another chat with Tommo and he asked my children if they were coming back. I explained to Tommo that I would have a conversation with my children once we left and suggested he give me a call the next day for our feedback. Tommo then offered another taster session the following week so I agreed, this would give us time to consider. I had to make sure my children had a genuine interest as my initial outlay to get them signed up was going to be in excess of £450.00 including the first month’s fees as I had now missed out on the £49 per child discount for not signing up on the spot. As the days went on before our next visit I kept mentioning Combat Academy to try and drum up their interest, they were both looking forward to the visit. On the morning of our next planned taster session I received a call from one of the team and she started going over pricing again. We had a slightly more relaxed conversation and we agreed a great deal that was much more palatable than the £450.00 (£230.00) She explained that she would not be in that evening when my kids had their planned session however she would leave some notes on the system so the lady who was in could honour the deal we had just discussed. We arrived at the Combat Academy at 16:05 ready for the 16:15 session. upon arrival I was greeted by a lady, she said right we will get you sat down for your induction. I explained we had already done the induction with Tommo 6 days ago and then gone through all pricing again earlier that day over the phone. She said with an attitude well we still need to do it again your not members! I asked do what again? and she replied I’ll get to know the kids a bit and we can discuss pricing. I explained id already agreed pricing earlier that day. I said I just wanted a relaxed session and then we can chat afterword's or near the end once I was reassured by kids had enjoyed the first half. She then said we have got to do it for insurance purposes (every trick in the book) I explained I wasn't happy about doing the induction for the third time as I had already done it with Tommo and then again on the phone earlier that day, we never signed anything the first time for insurance purposes. I told her I would leave if she wasn't prepared to listen to what I wanted to do as I didn’t believe a second sales pitch had anything to do with insurance. she was happy for me to leave so we left before the session started. I got the feeling that it wasn't about keeping the kids happy and giving them a good experience or an induction for insurance purposes. It was about me been pressured in to paying the membership fee and joining on the spot. I have left 3 stars as the Combat Academy itself is spacious and clean, it's just a shame I wasn't listened to.

What a brilliant place to have joined. I just moved countries didn't know anyone so decided to give it ago. That was 2 and a half years ago and I love it. It was the best decision I made. The dedication from all the instructors are outstanding. It's one massive family all in one from ninjas to kids to adults. Everyone is so supportive and the friends that I have made is just amazing. I would fully recommend anyone joining the combat establishment you will never be disappointed. Come on and try it . OSU

What can I say, Kudos to The Combat Academy Ladies Kickboxing for slick marketing, onpoint professional friendly team, and great customer care. From screen, door to floor - the whole team made it so easy to want to get involved and do it again 👊 Was I scared and nervous - hell yeah! But I did it! And I loved it. Met some new ladies, belly laughed, and kicked some pads. What's not to love? I might have found that new hobby I was looking for - highly recommend 🙌💕✌️
